Our relationship with parents is very important - the better that we work together the more our children learn and enjoy school. If you would like to know more about any aspect of the school or your child's education please ask your child's teacher, or speak to the Headteacher. We will be happy to help.
In this section you will find documents and links that that may be of use to you in finding out more about our school. If you wish any more detailed information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
| In addition to the information here you will receive regular letters and reports from the school. You will receive: |

Thinking of sending your child to Littlehaven?
If you are choosing a school for your child please be sure to look around Littlehaven. Call the school office on 01403 260608 to arrange a time to visit. We will show you around the school, you can meet the staff and we will answer any questions that you may have.
Parents of current children
You will have several opportunities to meet with your child’s teacher during the year to discuss their progress, but if you would like to know more about the school, or your child’s development please just ask – we will be delighted to help you.
We encourage parents to become involved – so if you would like to help in some way, either as a governor or on the PTA let us know.

Dear Parents and Carers,
The highlight of this week has been a day of music workshops with two members of staff from the West Sussex Music Support Service. Alison Sutton and Emily Barden ran a workshop with each class following a theme of ‘Space’. They covered rhythm, composition and singing in an interactive and fun way. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were impeccably behaved.
Take away tasks – last reminder!
Don’t forget to bring in your child’s "alien" on Tuesday 23rd March, ready for an alien exhibition in the hall on Celebration of Work afternoon. If you have lost the information sheet about this task, please contact your child’s class teacher for a replacement.
What do you think of Littlehaven?
Thank you very much for your responses to the governors’ questionnaire. If you still have a questionnaire at home, do complete it and return to the office. The governors will collate the questionnaires over the next few months, and any suggestions made will be included when we plan improvement priorities for the next academic year.
Easter Bonnet Parade – less than three weeks away!
Just another reminder about our traditional parade on the last day of term.
Token update
The Nestle Box Tops promotion is drawing to a close for this year so please can you send tokens in by Monday (15th March). Also Tesco and Sainsbury’s have recently started their campaigns for tokens for schools and clubs. Each store provides one token for every £10 spent in store or online. The boxes for all these promotions are in the school main entrance.

Friday 26th February 2010
Dear Parents,
What a wet start to this half term! We hope that the weather starts to improve soon. Please check weather reports each day and ensure your child has appropriate clothing. We do try to take the children out for a short play each day even if it is raining slightly, particularly on weeks when there is rain every day.
Take away tasks
Don’t forget to bring in your child’s "alien" on Tuesday 23rd March, ready for an alien exhibition in the hall on Celebration of Work afternoon. If you have lost the information sheet about this task, please contact your child’s class teacher for a replacement.
What do you think of Littlehaven?
Every year, the governors hand out a questionnaire for parents/carers to complete about Littlehaven. The information that you give us about our school is very helpful. We obviously like to hear what you think we do well, but to help us improve our school we also need to know what you think we could do better. If you have particular suggestions or ideas that you think could work here, please let us know. We read and consider all comments made by parents. The questionnaires are being given out by governors at the consultation evenings (last night and Wednesday 3rd March). If you do not attend these evening meetings, you will receive a questionnaire via you child.
Year 1 Performance at end of term
Year 1 will be doing their end of term performance on Tuesday 30th March in the afternoon (time to be confirmed) and Wednesday 31st March at 9 a.m. We would like to keep the Tuesday afternoon performance as adults only in the audience as very young children can be a distraction to the performers. Are there any parents who would be willing to help run a crèche for the first performance? Would you like to use a crèche? Please let Mrs Deacon or Miss Thompson know.
Reporting Absence
Please ring the school office between 8.30 a.m. and 9.15 a.m. if your child is absent. We would be grateful if you did not call before 8.30 a.m. as we cannot guarantee there will be a member of office staff available to receive your call.
Holidays in Term Time
Whilst we would prefer that holidays are not taken in term time, if you do need to take your child out of school you will need to complete a "Request for Holiday in School Time" form, which is available from the school office. Your completed form will be considered for approval no earlier than one month prior to the date of the requested holiday.
Parking/Turning in the School Drive
Please do not stop, park, or use the school drive as a turning point between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. This is dangerous for our school children and the children who attend Jack and Jill Pre-school.
Bags to School reminder
There will be a "Bag to School" collection on Thursday 4th March. Please do not bring bags to school before this date as we have nowhere to store them.
Yours sincerely,
S. White
